ALT – 110

The world’s first drug that targets
an alternative splice form ALT-110, the first of Alteris’
products, currently is being tested in a Phase I clinical trial
partially supported by the RAID (“Rapid Access Investigational
Drug”) program of the National Cancer Institute, National
Institutes of Health. The production of ALT-110 under GMP conditions
is being carried out by a company which has extensive experience
in this area, American Peptide. They are a certified facility and
can provide all necessary documentation to the FDA for this drug.
The Phase I trial is being carried out at the University of Washington,
School of Medicine through a collaboration with scientific and clinical
investigators with extensive experience in the design and completion
of human vaccine trials in cancer patients.

- Phase I study to monitor safety as well as immunologic and clinical
parameters
- Trial conducted at the University of Washington, Seattle, SWOG
protocol 0114
- Patients with tumors expressing EGFRvIII and meeting other eligibility
criteria will be enrolled
- Patients are vaccinated with EGFRvIII peptide in combination
with GM-CSF for up to six 28 d cycles
- First 5 patients injected without significant side effects
- Evidence of immunity in 3 patients (both antibody and T cell)
